RSV Vaccination
The RSV Season is Coming
WHAT’S RSV?
- RSV is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms.
- Infants and older adults are more likely to develop severe RSV and need hospitalization.
- CDC recommends injections to protect infants, some young children, and older adults.
WHAT’S THE INJECTION? BEYFORTUS
How Beyfortus works:
Beyfortus is a preventative antibody that gives babies the protection against RSV they lack. Antibodies are made naturally by our immune system to fight viruses. But a baby’s immune system might not be strong enough by itself to make enough antibodies to fight RSV. This iswhere preventative antibodies can add more protection. Side effects are minimal, such as a sore leg.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
The vaccine will be available October 2025. You must be under 8 months of age when you receive the injection.
WHO IS INELIGIBLE?
Infants who received a prior Beyfortus injection or an infant whose mother received the RSV vaccine.

Advocare Society Hill Pediatrics is taking reservations for the RSV Vaccination.
