Please bring your insurance card to every visit to verify enrollment. When insurance information cannot be verified, you may be asked to make payment in full at the time of visit. We collect copays and co-insurance at the time of service. We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards or checks.

All newborns are covered by their mother’s insurance plan for the first month of life.  It is important to notify them as soon as possible about your new arrival. Also enroll your baby in your health insurance plan which will give your baby their own insurance policy to begin coverage at the one month well visit.

Office visits and services are billed to your insurance company first, and after the claim is processed, an explanation of benefits is sent to you explaining their payment. There may be a portion of the bill which is the patient’s responsibility. You will receive a bill in the mail from Advocare for the amount due. This can be paid over the phone, online through our website or by mail.

Any outstanding balances from previous visits, will also be due at the time of service. Accounts with unpaid outstanding balances may be sent to a collection agency. To avoid this, please call our office and speak with our billing manager or office manager if you have any questions about your bill.

It is difficult to plan for unexpected medical bills. Do not hesitate to speak to our billing manager if you need to set up a payment plan for financial hardship.

As part of routine health care, The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends scheduled well visits for infants and children. These visits for preventative care involve multiple screening measures, growth, developmental assessment, child safety, immunizations and more. Most health insurance plans do not require a copay or co-insurance for the well office visit. During these well visits, the screening tools used (hearing, vision, MCHAT, ASQ, etc) are billed separately. Insurance coverage for screening varies with every plan and may or may not cover these services.

Acute or chronic medical problems are treated at a problem focused or sick visit. These visits may require a copay, a co-insurance or be applied to a deductible.

When medical problems arise at a child’s well visit, the evaluation and treatment of the problem may result in an additional copay, co-insurance or deductible. This will be detailed on the explanation of benefits and may result in a patient balance.
